I'm going to assume you're not a complete fucking retard and can understand the words you are reading, so I'll spell it out for you. The stress test that was done a MONTH prior to launch was woefully lackluster. They only kept the server up for like 30 minutes, and the playerbase capped at around 1850, which was within their expected parameters for the launch of around 2k people. They never even expected that much people to begin with, the server was supposed to be a fun little niche thing for people looking for something different.

Now in the month prior to the launch, the Discord users went from ~15k to 50k+, with active accounts of around 25k users. If you cannot see how much of a fucking colossal increase this is, it is literally THE largest private server launch of ALL TIME. The devs absolutely fucked themselves by not running another stress test after seeing their userbase go through the fucking ceiling and that is completely their fault on them. But any other pserver would have fucking exploded with tens of thousands of fucking retards clogging them all at once just the same, so ultimately them using an antiquated server core is a moot point. Sure, they would have probably fixed the servers much, much faster, the launch would have been FUBAR in either case.

Why even fucking bother with this shit? If you want Classic+ then why would you go for the server that has barely any custom content? Turtle has literal expansions worth of custom content and you faggot retards are choosing to hype yourself up for this rather than playing something that has existed for 8 years. I genuinely don't get it.

Epoch is literally a /r/wowservers project that'll ban you for being anything remotely close to right-wing.

Yesterdays testing what slightly better then normal IF you believe what they were saying. When playing it was pretty smooth. Even had more then 2k players on a server. However doing tests where shit ain't up for more then 15 minutes at a time really means nothing. They NEEDbto launch during the week and iron out the details before the weekend before everyone hops on.

i've actually never played wow before, i never really played mmos growing up. but i have a friend who played wow, and they convinced me to join this server and play the game together. I'm not an impatient person so I don't mind that they had to delay the launch, I just wish they'd be straight with the community about the situation, be like "yeah the server got overloaded and we're going to need 2 or 3 weeks to scale it up to the amount of people that are going to join" and not this dripfeeding minor news twice a day to keep the 'community engaged' or whatever.

They stopped the stress test because they're fucking morons. They have plenty of people to test with.

I know this isn't a generic wow thread, but it's as good as it can get for my question.

I want to try out single player repacks / self-server hosting with bots. A few days ago there was a short thread about it. Preferably with an option that allows me to create a character and use it as a bot companion.
I'm already aware of CMangos but that's just the server. How does one get the game at all with supported versions? You grab it from BattleNet?
Are there other good singleplayer repacks for old versions with bots? It's even fine if the world is empty as long as I can have a companion bot I can customize. (up to WotLK, don't really care too much about the newer versions)

It was suddenly beset by relentless drama and server issues similar to what Epoch is now facing. The server's launch was beyond fucked, and when people wanted an alternative Vanilla+ server, everyone shilled Turtle.
