PS1 -> PS2 -> PS3 felt like each generation kept getting insanely better than the last. By the time of the PS4 it kind of stagnated. More fidelity and power, but the graphics rarely impress me anymore.
The PS2 era is my favorite because it had that right mix of realistic yet most games still tried to look like video games.
