>>717316420 (OP) >What's the catch?
Bad map designs, SBMM and horrible balancing probably. Also, if the Battle Royale mode becomes super popular then the main game will take a backseat and BR will become their focus.
>>717316420 (OP) >Its literally just 2042 but with a blue filter >Mobility of CoD including sliding and faster knife movement >Health bars, in a fucking military shooter >Identity crisis game which can't pick if we have classes or dont what those classes do and what weapons classes have access to or not >Absolutely shameless marketing campaign fucking everywhere >Rushed announcement and launch to quickly cash in on preorders
I am honestly impressed most of all by how stupid the CoD/BF crowd is, and how easy it is to hoodwink them into buying the same crap over and over. I honestly get why CEOs/Execs don't view their customers/workers as humans, if you buy BF, you basically renounce sentience.

Not sure if it's just because I'm getting old (29) but this type of movement in an FPS just feels anti-fun to me. I can't be assed to play a game where everybody moves around like this anymore. I still remember getting upset at getting killed by dropshotters in the MW2 days and now it's like games are being made completely centered around that type of shit.
>50v50 >80+ maps, not including variants, covering WW2, Vietnam, Falklands and modern day conflicts >Dozens of factions with unique equipment kits and vehicles >AAS / Insurgency gamemodes allow for both conventional and asymmetric warfare, and are drastically different in how you go about achieving objectives to win >Slower paced gameplay that actually rewards teamwork, communication and planning, while punishing COD tier run and gun lone wolf playstyles with things like weapon deviation time and no health regen >Older graphics gatekeeps zoomers, who go on to shit up games like Squad >Still receiving substantial content updates: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFEV8PUOfAw [Embed] >100% FREE to play standalone client download
What's your excuse for not playing the greatest Battlefield game of all time?
>>717316867
It wasn't one game, it was a slow slide by CoD, BF and CSGO towards faster movement. But BF is just copying CoD so you can just blame CoD for this.
>>717316420 (OP)
Realism. Why aren't the tanks, and all armor, made of the dirt? There are no realistic impact craters, hillsides blown off, or clogged rivers covered with piles of debris.
>>717316575
This gameplay wouldn't feel out of place in some Korean futuristic shooter and I wouldn't give a shit, but in a modern setting it's so weird and offputting. Like what fucking game am I playing here? Is this Battlefield or GunZ?
>>717316648 >>717316575 >Been playing Ready or Not >The fucking WEIGHT of your movement and guns which makes it feel so good >Go back and play BC2 because maybe I have nostalgia and the new BF is just like the old BFs
I fucking knew I didn't, the older BF games felt weighty too, not as good as RON but definitely closer than this which is just horrific. I don't want to see jumping, diving or sliding in a military shooter. The only exception would be a dive, but for movement from explosives not for diving and shooting like CoD.
>>717316420 (OP)
First and most important one, EA isn't really known for their honesty, expect at least one or two things to actually suck when the game releases, second they'll absolutely force you to use their EA app bullshit that no one really likes, expect some kernel level anticheat bullshit, third, don't expect EA to not listen to the siren call of just doing the CoD thing and adding whomever is cheap and irrelevant enough to not be in Fortnite
I've seen videos and there's no fucking recoil so shooting looks incredibly boring. Just hold down the button and stay perfectly on target with perfect accuracy. Very boring shooting.
>>717317362
stop pretending BF was ever close to a military sim. it was always a dumb arcade shooter set in big chaotic maps. some of those choke points have always been dumber than anything in cod multiplayer. t. been playing since BF Vietnam.
>>717317584 >they'll absolutely force you to use their EA app bullshit
They specifically said they won't, if you buy it on Steam.
Ofc they didn't say they won't require it later down the line.
>expect some kernel level anticheat bullshit
It is already known there will be kernel level anticheat.
>>717316575 >>717316648
It does look strange, but I'm going to reserve judgement for when I play it. I want to see how hard it is to kill someone moving around like that.
>>717316575 >>717316648
I'm considering bf6 but these clips are seriously making me reconsider. I'm guessing people will pretty quickly start sliding and moving really strangely constantly to be harder to hit ruining all immersion. They should slow the game down a lot.
The only saving grace apparently is that the game doesn't have cod aim assist where it tracks you through the entire dive which is driving away cod players
>>717318610
Dolphin diving in BF2 was unintended and they patched it out, so it's not really the same. Sliding around in BF6 is working as intended. You're meant to be sliding.
>>717318792
unless they buffed it like crazy nobody but streamers trying to look epic will play like that, or kiddos imitating them, and they will exclusively play on inf only servers.
bfv had sliding but nobody really used it since it was mostly just clientside thing to make you think you are being cool.
>>717318793
Is MW = Modern Warfare? I can see everything happening in that webm, and I still think it's stupid. A guy walks around a corner, gets spotted, and he dodges by sliding into cover. Then, he jumps from cover and shoots the guy while midair.
That wouldn't work at all in a real shooter like Counter-Strike, because there's no slide in CS, and your bullets would go everywhere if you jumped. I hope BF6 is less crazy than what you posted.
>>717317013
The culture and community is a shell of its former self and it gives me pain to play it now. But it’s an amazing game.
Plus it is not a replacement for BF. I want to run and gun sometimes too
>>717318996
BF2 had plenty of patches. Like the one that made servers incredibly unstable so they'd crash before the game ended like 50% of the time. Or the one that buffed the PKM so it was a sniper rifle except with no recoil and full auto. Or the one that added Wake Island, that awful fucking map.
>Holds the same angle after exposing self and missing shots >Stuck in ADS walking >Gets jumpshotted and prefired >what!?!?!
I'm not a huge fan of zoom zoom movement but you look like an absolute shitter noob in this.
Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to '83, but I also really love Battlefield's balance of being believably authentic and just arcady enough to be enjoyable. It saddens me that they seem to do nothing but futureshit and modern day stuff now because V was such a shitshow (and that was really the fault of the team that made the trailer and one studio executive who wouldn't shut his fucking mouth, the actual game wasn't all that bad, even at launch)
>>717319413 >Holds the same angle after exposing self and missing shots
Yeah, that's the one thing I notice in all these webms. The enemies are always total shitters that don't even reposition >motherfucker shoots at you and jumps around a corner >guess ill just stand here and wait for him to show
What the fuck.
>>717316648 >>717316575
Uhmmmmmm Sweetie don't you know that after 12 years of release some people have learnt to exploit the limited movement options in bf4 for similar results???
It was always like that you just complain because that's all you know
>>717319572
it was my favorite map in bf2 as well. it was fun hunting down j10 pilots in inferior machinery (f35) then camping the airfield because it wasn't an uncap.
it was the same in bf3, except ground attack was much more efficient cause 3d spotting. the only time i've gone like 150/200-0 in these games
>PS3 graphics >Named soldiers >Less maps than BF4 (2013 PS3 game) >No recoil >Soldiers move like crazy even tho they have like 100 kg of gear on them >No server browser >Battlepass >Female soldiers
>>717317013
project reality was fucking boring bro
some of us just want to jump into a game, have fun, and then get off so we can hit the gym, drink with friends, and fuck chicks
warsim fags are literal complete losers who lack any traits that people in real life find interesting
>>717320057 >>717319887
movement was always a thing in these games before it became a consoles first franchsie with bad company. the game used to have bhopping and prone spamming.
>>717320057
If you don't like Nu Shooters, just play something slower like Squad. Someone in this thread suggested Project Reality, but I don't know how alive that is.
>>717320275
dont lie you havent played the game. it was a thing in the game, nobody hated or loved it, it was just in the game, and frostbite deliberately slowed the game down for consoles and now they're bringing the speed back up to be more like classic battlefield. the thing is, what is classic battlefield for me isn't classic for zoomers.
>>717316575 >>717316648
this is nowhere near the new codslop in terms of spastic movement, you don't see them stringing together 400 movement techs like a DMC4 combo video. Like in that first webm it takes the character 5 years to get up from prone.
>>717320524 >this is nowhere near the new codslop in terms of spastic movement
Someone posted a Call of Duty webm, and it's a lot worse than Battlefield. The dive in BF6 is like a Max Payne dive, and it actually takes time to get off the floor.
>>717320524
yeah it looks like a death sentence against any player who expects it since you can just pre aim the ground and they will just jump into your crosshair and can't move
>>717320672 >it looks like a death sentence against any player who expects it since you can just pre aim the ground
If someone has good reactions, they would just end your life if you go to the ground. You can't dodge anymore when you're on the floor, so it's like a high risk move.
>>717316575
Yikes. It looks exactly like Black Slops 6. I’m sure every lobby will be dominated by a gigachad hacker perma sliding and aim locking going 90-1 because he’s really successful in life.
>>717320585
Nu-CoD is beyond parody, all of the APM requirements with none of the momentum of real movement games like titanfall so everyone is just having a whole-body seizure across the map.
>>717320913 >Nu-CoD is beyond parody, all of the APM requirements with none of the momentum of real movement games like titanfall so everyone is just having a whole-body seizure across the map.
That's how it looks here: >>717318687
It's like what is happening.
>>717320216
Back im the day you didnt see it very often. Most servers were extremely casual. Most people werent autistic about looking shit up and playing "optimally" back then. That's the baseline now.
>>717321708 > Most servers were extremely casual
just like now >That's the baseline now.
what is? in bfv the sliding didn't really transition your model at all nor make you faster than running. in bf6 it looks the same but there is a dive that locks you in animation for multiple seconds
watching levelcap's video on some pseudo karkand map and it looks good but obviously gonna run like shit.
the visual smoke from all the particles also looks good but im gonna play on all low so its probably gonna get dialed down since it looks like a very expensive effect but the game also needs to run on 2060 gpus
anyone remember spotting from 1942? i remember it was a janky thing. you could spot for tanks or artillery. does something weird like that exist in the modern games?
>>717316648 >can’t shoot through thin metal container >fake on rails ‘destruction’ >no commander mode >no capital ship battles on the ocean >no on map artillery >No mod support
>>717323148
In War Thunder some high tier vehicles can launch micro UAVs for scouting, most importantly they can lay a ping that squadmates can see the exact range to so they can set their range offset to exactly that, lay their crosshair right on the ping, and shoot perfectly pre-ranged shots.
>>717323276
it wasnt like that at all. and i know 3d spotting from bf3.
it was like pseudo-commander mode (from bf2), but instead of a dedicated mode it was more like a birds eye view of the target you could swap into if someone with binoculars was "spotting" it for you, so you could adjust your shots.
>>717323325
that sounds cool, i remember bf3 you had laser tagging so you could turn dummy fire missiles into laser guided missiles if anyone on your team bothered marking shit for you
