it is fun. you can jump in and start having fun right away, that's what's great about it. but there is a high skill ceiling that makes it very rewarding to be able to beat it. when you finally put together all of the pieces and understand what it takes to make it to the end of a run, you feel so satisfied. then you learn what it takes to do multiple runs in a row without dying and you are even more satisfied. then you start exploring secrets. it is a fantastic game. a single run can be done very quickly, in minutes. but a single run doing side quests/content can be 20 hours (and then you die to polymorph). it is so goddamn fun.

I've always thought the original Mario Bros was underrated and one of the best NES games, probably more fun to play today than SMB1 even. And no the GBA version cannot compare, you NEED the fixed Simon Belmont jumps to have any sort of challenge.

Atmosphere is number one reason. I love the gritty PS1 aesthetic combined with the synth heavy ost. A weird but specific part that especially clicked for me was the part where Grey Fox has massacred the soldiers. When you walk over to one of the corpses and kneel the camera angle changes. That was a fantastic detail and stuck with me. Also, when you first arrive on the floor with Otacon you can lean against the wall opposed to his room, and see him in there. Then, an audio cue plays. There's so much neat little touches. Also I think the story and characters are better in 1 compared to 3.
But as said, I love MGS3 too.

Fortnite isn't a bait. I play the game almost everyday, why wouldn't I include it? A game doesn't need to be good for you to enjoy it. It's the only game I can get my friends to play and my PC to run, it has lots of fun stuff like the TMNT and the Nissan R32. Movement isn't all that bad if you get good (I only play No Build). And it feels good to win.

Kingdom Hearts is one of the worst games I have ever played in my entire life

Mine would be SF3: Third Strike, Doom (1993), and Dark Souls - and then probably six first party Nintendo titles. Mainline Mario/Zelda/Metroids most likely.

Not worth the effort of making a 3x3, but that’s my taste.

I'll be honest, this actually isn't terrible and is perfectly understandable.
We're in an interesting cultural moment where I think Fortnite is actually a pretty big deal, and has been for a long time, but it's completely bounced off the traditional gamer crowd.
It's not my kind of thing, but with what little I know about it I can see why it's popular just on a gameplay level.
