It's $50 which is surprising, I'm going to wait to see what players think.

I'm getting it. I like the idea of it taking place in ye olde gabbagool country and I enjoyed the 1 remake.

Has any other series had literally no good games

Gameplay shown didn't look good. AI didn't look smart either. Could fix some of the things shown but don't think they will fix everything. Could be proven wrong. I'll wait and see what everyone else thinks.

Why would anyone be hyped with their track record?
>1 is classic game with some graphics and controls drawbacks but with classic story and great gameplay even to this day
>2 is gutted, oozing potential but never quite gets there, looks good, plays OK but it's just that, OK
>3 is travesty from every point of view, story, gameplay, graphics, bugs you name it
>remake of 1 has impressive grpahics but otherwise it's just another in the line of soulless slops with "gameplay update for modern audience"

Hopefully it's only 50$ because they experimented with the gameplay to make it unique and not because they know it's dogshit.

I don't need to play it to know it's made by people who don't know how to make games

Went on a Mafia binge thist past month and I gotta say
>Mafia 1 (DE) has the best story of the three, showing how mafias really work by taking in average joes and how there is never a "happy ending" when you enter the world of crime
>Mafia 2 feels very flawed, pacing is wierd and just in it's first real mission, you're already in gunfights with people. Gameplay is kinda lacking and the world feels oddly empty.
>Mafia 3 has good gameplay mechanics (shooting, takedowns, driving, they all feel and play fine) but possibly the single worst gameplay loop (talk to informant, do boring and repetitive tasks to rack up damage, go back to informant, kill racket boss, rinse and repeat until you unlock story missions which are marginally better but still the same). That on top of a story that feels like a blaxploitation movie written by Jordan Pelee with a whole racket dedicated to negroe slaves and multiple characters dedicated to "le black struggle" with Cassandra and The Voice (which btw have the single worst ending if left to run the city, they literally kill so much that the ghettos become and even worse place than before LOL). The DLCs though are actually good.

It's sub 10 hours, I'll get it cheap.

It's a game from the 360/PS3 era which means that every teenager who played it after school thinks Mafia 2 is the pinnacle of gaming. It's not a bad game per se, but it has a lot of flaws when put under the most basic scrutiny
