it was the last one, right on the edge of fun and shit. A lot of people skipped world at war, or were waiting for the next modern warfare. MW2 was a step up in some ways, and a clusterfuck in others. endless floating harriers summoned by danger close pro classes, predator missiles, chopper gunners, nukes obviously. it was exciting and fucking ridiculous all at the same time. coming from MW1, it was a little bit too much and was the last CoD I bought. some people were hopping back to MW1 just for the better maps and gunplay

Cod4 was the last passable one, and they removed dedicated servers with MW2 so it was a piece of shit right off the bat, plagued with hackers because VAC anti cheat sucked so much fucking ass you literally had to use a cheat tool with admin controls yourself to hijack the matchmaking room so that you were forced to be the host so you could kick the blatant botters and cheaters the fuck out. Literally 9 of every 10 games would have at least one hacker in it.

I've thought the story was alright, but like most CoD titles they're just a glorified tutorial for the multiplayer
The internet cafe I used to frequent had their own private server for MW2 and World at War with progressions tied to their account
Shittalking someone from across the room was very cathartic, also everyone respected the no noob tube/camping rule, just a really fun time overall
