What will happen when the e-sports bubble finally bursts?
My predictions:
>Less sweats since the prospect of making money decreases GOOD
>Games will balance around casual play and fun over organized pro play BAD?
>Less uggos getting gfs through e-sports clout GOOD
>Chinks and gooks will have to get real jobs and face reality that white men are stealing their girls GOOD

90% western e-sports run on investments and all of them are bleeding dry. Many years ago, some NBA player convinced a bunch of old rich men to throw money at it promising exponential returns.

the difference is that regular sports has a wider demographic. could you imagine a 40 year old man attending an esports event? the only ones going to these are kids with no money.

is there any reason to believe it will burst, and can you even call it bubble? it's not like esports are unnaturally popular, and if it actually was a bubble it would probably bloat during covid and burst right after, but that didn't happen, right? But assuming that at some point esports become so unpopular that the business will become unsustainable I don't think much will change, the games will still be balanced around the best players, because they spend the most time playing the game and are most likely to spend a lot of money on it, and regarding your predictions
>Less sweats since the prospect of making money decreases
I disagree, people tryhard to win and feel better about themselves, even if some of them hope or believe to become pros, it's a minority and has nothing to do with toxicity
>Games will balance around casual play and fun over organized pro play
already reffered to that, the games will always revolve around the best plalyers
>Less uggos getting gfs through e-sports clout
>Chinks and gooks will have to get real jobs and face reality that white men are stealing their girls
why would anyone give a shit about it?

e-sports is effectively dead already (that's good), if you compare it to the pushing circa 2016, the overall global """scene""" was never a thing
massive singular games will still get their dev-funded tournaments (assfaggots and counter strike), autists will never let go (smelee and starcraft), and everything else never had enough support to mimic conventional professional sports
the biggest question is EVO, since it sold out to sony, but fightans have enough grassroots momentum to pivot to combo breaker or somesuch if need be

no tv deals and no one pays to watch, so the only revenue sources are sponsorships from Saudi Arabia and gambling companies, merch and ads

and these players are getting paid millions each year

E-sports isn't going anywhere, yeah it will probably down size considering how overhyped it was, especially in america where you had sports organizations dumping money in it like It's going to be the next NFL, but e-sports has been a thing since the 90's and it has naturally grown with how popular gaming is. Also your last three points are kind of cope. No one forces devs to balance around pro play, that's something they do because they have no vision for the game.

Esports isn't going anywhere. It'll downsize and go back to being closer to how it was before the boom, but it's not going away.

is it really still that big of a thing? if it wasn't for a fighting game fan in my circle i wouldn't even know that there was an EVO desu... i wonder if it's still as popular and crowded as ever.

It already did
E-sports viewership is at an all time low. Non vidya sponors are pulling out left and right.
NA CS and LOL scene is competely dead. Most "talents" are going to streaming.
Chinks and gooks arent going anywhere because their scene is state funded to keep up the apperance of asians being good at sports.

>when the e-sports bubble finally bursts?
It already happened multiple times, the failure of the Overwatch league, the post pandemic burst (mostly affecting BR esports), starcraft 2 is dead outside of Korea.
The only solidified esports are the most famous fighting game berands like Street fighter and Tekken, CS, DOTA and games from Riot like League or Valorant, everything else barely gets any numbers.

The esports bubble has only burst in NA, but it still quite strong in Asia and Europe. Honestly, it's one of the easiest ways to expose some particular region. If they can't even be competitive at pressing buttons, why would you expect them to excel in things that actually matter? Notice how NA rarely wins anything these days, and there are mass layoffs too, yet the H1B program keeps getting stronger

didnt it already burst? at least league and csgo are all out of their prime and those are the 2 main ones. overwatch went bankrupt. fighting games were never on that top level and now people dont really care since all the 90s legends retired or suck now. now fortnites the biggest but that also fell off. there's nothing really. even gaming streams have fallen off and the only big streams are irl streams.
