Its insane how behind they are.
FF3 on the NES had escort npcs.

Route Changes

No difference through the first boss, just the usual two circle rooms and then the small tunnel with the useless side branch. No walls introduced in that tunnel.

The two circular rooms after the first boss weren't changed in layout, but now each has 3 packs each, one on each "side" and then one at the other end. You have to kill two packs for the sand to spawn to take you to the next area. So you can still skip a pack and they weren't converted into hallways.

No change for the route between the second and third boss. The side paths still exist and you can do it all in one pull if you want.

Myrmidon Princess

Boss slightly changed. Now spawns waves of adds near to her on a timer while doing a periodic targeted circle AoE or frontal conal AoE. She either summons four soldiers, one larger guard, or a marshal that will give her a temporary Vuln Down.

Giant Tunnel Worm

I couldn't determine any meaningful changes to this boss. Still does the cycle where he blasts a random player with a single target DoT, does an untelegraphed frontal cleave, then when he goes under he alternates between either doing a line of burst that ends in him emerging or a suck into the middle that ends in an explosion.

Chimera

I feel the cast bar for Ram's Voice in particular was made like 1 second longer, I ran this dungeon last night just to have a final sense of things and it came out fast, and feels slower now. Both Voices are still untelegraphed.

The boss now centers himself before Cacophony (the chaser circle AoE) is cast, and the player that it targets has a marker over their head before it starts to chase them.

The boss no longer casts circle AoEs that leave residual ice puddles, instead he casts Lightning Storm circle AoEs that do mostly the same thing but don't leave puddles (Trust AI has historically not been able to handle "random" void zones so getting rid of them is common).

The furry from 7.0 has more dialogue than characters if you add up their dialogue from 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 ect up to 7.0.
Only TWO characters have more dialogue than Wuk Lamat, and it's Alpinaud and Alisiae, the SUPPORTING PROTAGONISTS. Wuk Lamat has more dialogue from 7.0 than Y'shtola or Thancred has from 2.0-7.0.

The MSQ was the prime marketing point for 90% of players, 5% raided, and Second Life shit was auxiliary along the way. As someone who started playing FF14 by the time endbringer was released, I don't give a fuck about what others think about stormblood. All I know was that the MSQ was absolute fucking horseshit.

Here's the main point:
You are running around wiping ass on both Heavensward and Stormblood, but the two differences is that on HW you're doing so to repay house fortemps for being nice to you and letting you stay after you get framed and chased out of potatoland. It also helps that the initial quests establishes your allies as likable chivalrous characters. The shit you're wiping isn't something caused by their generation.
Storblood however you have to help the ala mhiggers and the japanese but they're busy being fucking entitled giving your retarded menial tasks despite them being the ones asking for help. The characters on your side are also insufferable cunt, old guy who's given up, blindly loyal ninja and best of all the young lord who the blindly loyal ninja has sworn to. Did I mention that said young lord hasn't done anything worthwhile at all and only has the the title of lord due to birthright and and he fucking ran away to mongolia like a coward? Also the shit your wiping is in most of the cases caused by the people you're helping giving you the double whammy of not only having to placate and do menial work to help a bunch of insufferable entitled retards, you also babysit and wipe their asses by solving problems they themselves caused.

The writing in DT feels modern in comparison. No peculiar wording used whatsoever, very clean, direct speeches that sound like something a Californian person would say, no literary references, nothing. The few lines Urianger speaks are in normal English, probably because the localizers weren't able to properly convey his previous manner of speech. The FATE descriptions are flat and boring; a line was forgotten in Japanese in the previous patch because the localization team forgot to translate it; and there are several punctuation and lore mistakes (missing commas and periods, Gulool Ja being referred as Gulool Ja Ja's son and not nephew etc.)

It's especially bad considering this follows up Endwalker, which even with a momentary factor in the endgame dungeon, still at least showed why immortality and enlightenment can horrifically backfire, and pulled no real punches on that part. Then DT rolls in and like, people die, but it's all theatrics without substance. Citizenry die but people clench their hands and go "this makes me feel bad." There is a word for that kind of promotion, I forgot what it is though.
