I don't know why you guys say this like it's a bad thing. COD is one of the best shooters. When you die you can get back into the action quickly. Maps are well designed so encounters are face to face, and you generally know where the enemy is going to be.
Nothing worse than getting shot in the back while trying to find an enemy and then slogging through 10 minutes to start playing again.

I'm not really sure what they were thinking. Separating Assault and Medic to get rid of the self-healing AR guy makes sense but then they tried to give Assault a self-heal and also gave every class the option to equip any weapon so Support can just take an AR anyway.

I know some folks autistically hate BC2 due to some of the changes for consoles at the time, but it was legitimately an incredibly well designed game and what should have been the foundation for smaller scale maps in future BFs as player count and map size could grow with tech. The real failure in games immediately after BC2 was gun stats chasing what I assume was COD inspired TTK and accuracy.

Its incredible how differently the game plays when the average damage of the guns is like 18. Combined with actual spread weapons actually felt like they had identity, particularly between weapon types. You can see them immediately start to creep up damage in the Vietnam expansion.
The game really suffers when you have the accuracy, firerate and damage to die mid range in a single server tick.

This is just CoD, which isn't necessary a bad thing but it isn't a return to BC2 which was slow as shit for movement and had a lot more of a 'front line' pushing/pulling feeling to it. Rushing forward was a great way to instantly die.
