We don't know regarding additional seasons, but the dataminer in /gbvsg/ said he found files relating to a character not shown yet, so maybe another season is planned or at least an additional character or 2 like OG GBVS had.

As for system mechanics changes, they seem to be in an odd spot of balancing, where they don't want to change stuff as massively as they did in the Versusia patch and instead want to focus on spurts of few character changes. I expect near the end of the this season we'll get a hefty mechanics update though. At this point BC is simultaneously a better and worse burst.

NTA but I think Sagat's biggest issue was actually that he was too laser focused on zoning. I remember a top rank Sagat player saying this. All the other zoners in SFV at their best (Poison, Guile, Menat) could all flip a switch and play more aggressively or get big rewards with v-triggers. Sagat's v-triggers are just okay. His purebred zoning didn't work as well in five. That probably says more about SFV than Sagat however. He was still functional.

Yeah, that is correct. Bonchan used Sagat in multiple tournaments for SFV. He played Karin as well, but he was playing both at the same time. I don't think that he dropped him for her, but that may be where the confusion is coming from.
