It's a real crock of shit that this didn't become a standard feature, but we know why.
8bitdo is fucking garbage. People only shilled them so hard because they were somewhat less garbage than other offerings and had gay color options. Gamesir is the premier 3rd party controller brand and blows the competition right out of the water, especially for budget controllers.
The only controllers I own that have stick drift are my ps3 controllers that I have played on almost daily since the ps3 came out. Consider washing your hands and not throwing your controllers in hissy fits if this is a regular problem for you.

I've had their Pro2 and it was extremely laggy to the point of brokeness within 6 months, and their arcade stick which is quite shitty but still probably the best wireless stick on the market, unless you want to start modding one with adapters. And before people tell me I fell for the wireless meme, I use it on my bingbingwahoo for casual couch play, so I don't really care about small amounts of input lag versus the comfort of a wireless controller used from a nice sofa. Unless there is a controller with the same build quality and out-of-the-box customisation that ALSO has an incredible dpad (that I can switch to be in-line with the face buttons when a game would benefit from it), I will stick with this.
>>717337976If you want a SNES clone, get the official Nintendo one (although I am not sure how compatible it is out of the box with a PC). Having said that, I cannot fathom how somebody could prefer a snes dpad to a mega drive/saturn style one.

>>717337125I thought the whole stick drift thing was a meme considering it never happened to me in my whole life and my dualshock2/3 hack even my DC pads are still working great to this day.
Then I buy a Dualsense (for my pc) and babysit the fuck out of it (made a case specifically for it, I never throw or drop it, etc) and then it starts drifting in less than a year. Insane, it's not just a little bit, I have to add 50% of deadzone in order to clear it.
They're doing this shit on purpose I swear. For what it's worth I've been using this Vader 4 Pro for about 9 months, it's hall effects and I have no stick issues so far, and it's a great controller, with great gyro now thanks to Steam's official support, although I caught the right bumper sticking once but it never happened again..

>>717346564All controllers drift eventually
There is literally no good affordable controller.
>>717333828>driftRemoves sensor wear from the drift equation. Can still develop "drift" from a loose centering spring.
>linearityVaries by stick sensor and the controller's firmware. It's claimed by some that ALPS has the best linear response, but hall effect and TMR controllers with good sensor design and no smoothing algorithms provide one as well.
>voltageHall effect uses more than other stick types. This only matters meaningfully for soldering a new stick into first party controllers, where hall effect may not function properly without an added daughterboard but TMR and ALPS will just work.
>resolutionSeparate from stick module completely, don't know where the TMR resolution meme comes from.
>design flawsSome stick models don't have the sensors shielded adequately from interference. Hall effect triggers may slightly pull up on hall effect/TMR sticks when pushed in, theoretically Switch 2's magnets would pull TMR joycon sticks toward the console.
Hall effect at low battery often loses about half its stick range.
>>717346694My 8bitdo ultimate wired did indeed lost a lot of travel on the left stick. But i bought it in 2023, and it still holds up after 2.5 years of HEAVY use. That's good quality, in my book.

IINE's the cheapest and most portable, recessed sticks so they don't snag things as easily in a bag or pocket is great.
Q38's same form factor as an 8Bitdo SN30, sticks protrude more than I'd like but I prefer circle mech d-pads.
Elves 2's a bit big, but should still fit in a cargo shorts pocket at least, and comes with a frosted acrylic carrying case matching the controller's shape, so the sticks will be protected in transit and it won't take up as much space as a typical controller bag.

I still had some from the same brand for my DS4's before and used them on this controller too. They're a little loose but they aren't falling off so it's good enough.
If the ones you posted have a better fit I may get them at some point.
I'm pretty sure I used the middle on the left stick and the the tallest on the right.
>>717378729Xbox 360 controller Just Worksโข on pc. you dont need to do any configuration with it. just plug it in and it works for pretty much any game. All my Fight sticks are 360 sticks for this reason as well. They work better on windows than the ps3 sticks.
It has a hard wire you dont have to worry about the port at the top waring from going in and out. The USB starts to ware? that's fine get a new break away if need be (rare)
Face buttons are Goated, Shoulders are fine, (better than any DS other than 2) D-pad leaves something to be desired but is reliable (sturdy, not accurate)

Avoid the Gamesir Tarantula Pro, they're discontinuing it for good reason (imprecise microswitch d-pad everybody fucking hated the feel of, extremely complex design for no payoff, latency problems that can't be resolved without a complete firmware rewrite)
Most likely the upcoming 8bitdo Pro 3
>>717379474Steam controller has a joystick though
>>717377987>DualSense is nicei got mine at 55 euros during a sale. if you keep an they happen often.
I bought a hexgaming rival and what I did not realise, because who the fuck would want this, is that it had mouse-click triggers. Not "you can adjust the trigger pull" no, the triggers have less movement than a fucking mouse button. The more expensive versions have adjustable triggers but I got the one version that can't be adjusted. Fortunately I was able to return it.
Third party controllers dont seem worth it to me since quality control is allowed the place. Chances are you'll get something that feels like shit to use or that breaks quickly. Just get an xbox controller.
>>717384086subtle trolling

Why has there not been a single fucking company that has made a controller based off the prototype NES controller? It looks really good & is better than the shit we got.

Now you have to move your fucking thumb all the way to the middle of the controller to use them.

I actually really like the 8shitdo ultimate 2C
It's only 30 burgerbux but is probably the best budget controller I've used, it has the form factor of the switch pro but a much better analog and clicky dpad. The buttons and bumpers are a little chunkier but not awful feeling by any means.
Probably the biggest pro otherwise is very very little input delay compared to bluetooth with the dongle and a pretty great battery life. I say this as someone who fucking hated OP's 8bitdo controller, now that was actual garbage that felt awful to hold and apparently had tons of issues when it came to both analog and dpad.
