the absolute bare minimum id recommend getting is left 4 bots addon which makes the AI less dumb.
bot primary weapon enforcer as well.
i also like hot & sweaty zoey personally.
sometimes it's hard to find maps to play due to how steam workshop works, so i normally refer to collections of maps people have made and choose any campaign with 4 stars or more and they tend to be fine or better. here are the 2 main collections i refer to when im finding new custom maps to play.

they soak damage/special infected, can hold nades i want for later, and can sometimes revive me since the friend i play with is retarded.
very rarely i kick the ai if they get stuck for some reason if i need to close the saferoom door and they wont teleport.
