Managing to fit health, stamina, weight, and every status effect onto a single bar in a way that makes sense thematically and functions accordingly is impressive as fuck. As the difficulty increases, the decision-making skills necessary to successfully chart a course to the top are varied, time-sensitive, and severely punished if incorrect. I have my grievances (Caldera is too easy and waiting for lava is boring as fuck, overly-punishing Kilns that call for 4+ pieces of equipment, backpack slingshot glitches, slow ass walking speed that makes autists spam sprint-jump, list goes on) but overall it's both something normalfags can grasp and enjoy and a nice space to exist in for a run or two solo. I feel like they're both pretty balanced. At first i thought that the additional storage from having multiple people (and the fact that many utility items can help multiple people, along with rope not being useless) would help, but you're much faster solo and have an abundance of ressources.
We've just failed at difficulty 6, mostly because we were too slow and people were afraid of using the items they found...

Doing it solo was actually way more forgiving. Aside from Medkit/Remedy/lantern/Breadbox allowing you to take quite some damage, you can usually still grab hold while falling to break your fall even without stamina.
