What causes the delusion that one has when he thinks GTA 6 won't be the biggest game ever on launch? My mother, who doesn't even know how to turn on a computer, asked me what GTA 6 was. It's literally on the national news whenever there's a trailer. The question isn't if it's going to be a success or not, the question is just how big the success is going to be.

Because it's not always the same game. Here we have another cope. Rockstar games are technically the MOST impressive games in the entire industry. They're the industry leaders. No other game has that amount of polish. 17 fucking years later and NOTHING has surpassed GTA 4 in many aspects, e.g. ragdoll physics.

Agree, there isn't anyone else working as hard on a game than R* devs. They move the industry forward and very few competitors even come close to their level:

Just to be clear: I think it's fine if you don't like Rockstar or GTA games. I can see reasons why people might not like those games. What I find annoying however is people on this board pretending to not understand WHY others like them and proceed to make up bullshit about those games. If you played RDR2 and compare that with ALL other open world games that came after it and you don't see the difference in quality, polish and detail, you're retarded. That simple.

I'm going to forgive GTA 5 for not being as good as GTA 4. GTA 5 was made with the 7th generation consoles in mind. The same generation that GTA 4 was developed for. After the criticism that GTA 4 got like the world being too small, I think Rockstar felt pressured to make this huge map. That combined with the fact that the 7th generation consoles simply did not have the processing power to able to run something that huge + the detail of GTA 4 resulted in what we eventually got with GTA 5. I think people forgot that GTA 5 at large portions of the game on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 ran at like 20 fps. That shit almost played as a PowerPoint slideshow.

Having said all of that, GTA 6 has NO excuses. The PS5 and Xbox Series X are decently powerful. They have been given a decade of full dev time. No more excuses. I expect GTA 4 levels of detail and gameplay + a world bigger than GTA 5 by far. Anything else is a disappointment.
