Basically the powers that be are noticing zoomers trickling into the workforce and realizing they are 90% completely mindbroken and useless zombies.
While they wanted them to be coonsoomer cattle slaves, they did not actually intend for them to be this braindead.
So now the people in power are panicking because zoomers are so broken that they are not useful even as slaves and it's obvious that the only possible future at this point is a legitimate idiocracy and the card house this is our society falling apart.
So they sitting around asking each other "what the fuck can we do how did it get this bad?"
They of course will not admit to their mistakes and root cause of globohomo and their micromanaged fake economy making life meaningless because addressing that would require them to sacrifice their power and restructure everything.
So instead they look at the immediate surface level symptoms. "Zoomers spend all their time jerking off and browsing tiktok in a constant daze, clearly the problem is tiktok and porn. If we ban those then they will have to do more productive things with their time and become functional members of society!".
Which is why they have been pushing to ban porn and tiktok.
The digital ID thing is a nice bonus too they they've wanted for a while and can slip in along the way.
