Establishing Steve as something of a real character. Huge spinoff where Steve has a significantly expanded moveset in a genuine platforming adventure.
The regular Minecraft blocks already have hardness levels like Bananza's chunks. And whatever physics properties they like in Minecraft proper could be added to the spinoff for fun interactions.
Having Steve transform into different creatures might have been a bit weird. But why the fuck not? Why should any character transform in a game? Why should Donkey Kong, Mario, or Wario transform? Because it's fun.
