It's not fucking fair.
Also I'm pissed that there was no way to skip the extremely long battle animations or speed the fights up in any way. 3x emulator speed shouldn't be the only option to do something that has been standard in every other Pokemon game.

This is how I feel honestly. The game itself has never felt great to play to me but holy FUCK they nailed the goddamn world and music. Never played anything else like it I'm not counting Gale of Darkness

Simply because of OPs point. Dragon Quest, to this day, still features these very gamey towns and cities. It's not like it's JUST DQ though. I'd also probably recommend shit like Skies of Arcadia or Blue Dragon to people who like the Orre games for this reason. It's just the vibe, really.
