Daemon x Machina Titanic Scion
This game is probably gonna flop because no one anywhere talks about it and it has no marketing in spite of releasing in a month, but it looks fucking awesome and has way more of its own identity than just being "Armored Core-lite clone because Armored Core is dead"
What gives?

first game came and went.

The first game was fucking garbage. Literally don't care about this at all.

Tell me more about this. The animations look like they were going for a dancer/ballerina aesthetic and it looks truly fucking horrible for a mecha game. Am I just wrong?

The first one was boring. Now they're making a second one because of armored core which was also boring but it sold decently since it had the fromslop seal of reddit gaming on the cover. They think there's a window for more mech games and they're about to find out they were wrong.

I'm personally interested in more mech games. But not this, or modern From's dodgeslop version of Armored Core either. The first Daemon X Machina was not good and I regretted it buying it. I do and will however continue buying every MechWarrior game and DLC day one. There's a market, just not for insufferable cringe like this.

What's to talk about? We don't know anything.
All we have are the trailers they released, and /v/ sperged out about them already.

I just rewatched gameplay. I don't understand how they arrive at these weightless combat animations for a Mecha game. Every Monster Hunter game since 2004 has had more weight in the combat animations than any cherry-picked combat animation that we've seen from Titanic Scion.

Probably has something to do with the first game being a mech game and then the sequel being focused on ground combat in power armor.
At least that's the impression I get from their trailers.
First game was carried by being a stopgap for Armor Core 6.
Where are the mechs?

You Titanfall them in after building a meter.

There is a market for real mechs (such as mechwarrior) but it's so niche that it's a huge financial gamble. As a game studio I wouldn't take the risk personally.

I don't disagree with you. It basically needs a brand name like Battletech or Gundam to survive, or From Software's Souls drones to scrape by even though AC6 wasn't really what either they or old Armored Core fans wanted.

Sadly that's the state of vidya. Execs are understandably afraid to take risks but the result is that they all try to follow the latest trend and that's how everything is a hero shooter/extraction shooter/valheim survivor game/battle royale/rollslop/gacha.
Funny thing is that while trying to catch the trend they mostly fail anyway.

I'd rather play something unique than shittier Armored Core.

They took a mech IP for a mech fanbase and decided to remove the mechs. No wonder nobody gives a fuck, who is this game even for.
