I'll buy it but I'm not "hyped". I didn't really enjoy V that much all things considered. RDR2 was fine I guess, but the setting appeals to me more. I'm sure the game will be an ambitious and fun sandbox, but I don't believe it'll be the greatest thing ever

Every game they released created waves in the gaming industry at every generation of consoles. You might be too young to know it but they have pioneered with every game release. Even their fucking table tennis ping pong shit was blowing shit out of the water when the 360 came out. Their quality is unbeaten. Though they did drop the ball with red dead online the base game was still a masterpiece that put every game that year to shame and for the next few years at that.

I've got no hype for generic realistic American life sim. But there are enough npcs out there who vastly outweigh my decision, happy to spend their mom's money on cosmetics and shart cards. I'll come around if they do Tokyo (or literally any other setting that isn't modern day USA)

Also, let's be honest. There is far less you can do with that era of the world than modern settings, like GTAV that has continued to be canonically set in the present, with far more to work with.

Rockstar is the only developer I always trust completely. They don't rush products, have an incredible in house engine, and have an endless budget
