There's tournaments for different ELO levels (and age, and titles). It's what happens your game is actually alive and doing well. You should be playing for fun anyways, and guess what? Modern fighting games are not only dead but not fun.

I think I finally understand how to play neutral and if I keep getting better I'll finally make it to master. It's all about rhythm, tempo and spacing. No more will I just hold down back or shimmy back and forth not having a fucking clue what I should be doing and just hoping the opponent does something bad or something and wondering why I keep losing.

Like for Ryu I shimmy in, shimmy out then I can either fake a fireball and hope they jump, actually throw a fireball, drive rush for plus frames, or stick out a poke if they're being aggressive. Keep doing this. Never stop. Keep up the tempo. I figured it out bros. I'm going to git gud at fighting games. Now I just have to learn how to dp on stick.
