Great classic FPS so many awesome mods and levels available but also so many lost
What is your favourite mod for Dark Forces 2?

Ludocore is the pure distilled essence of gameplay-no fluff, no movie cosplay, just systems speaking to each other in harmony. It's Quake movement, it's Thief's light gem, it's Permadeath in STALKER with mods on hard mode. It's when mechanics whisper secrets to the player instead of yelling lore. Games used to be Ludocore by accident, now they're cinematic on purpose. Bring back the clicking, the crunching, the seventh quicksave in 30 seconds because you're invested.

Dark Forces through all the way to Jedi Academy are by far the most consistent and greatest Star Wars experience in video games. People who claim Kyle is a mary sue like Rey ignore the fact that it took about five whole games for him to complete his arc and in the end train a new worthy hero.

Never happening. Games used to be for nerds by nerds now it's by committee for the general audience. We had our time in the sun, enjoy the memory of its warmth.

I wonder if /vr/'s made mods for this. They do a lot of Doom.

I havn't seen classic FPS mods discussed on /vr/ much and when I asked about lost levels for the Half Life 1 Vampire Slayer mod they all came up short

I will die on this hill, but I would consider Ratchet Deadlocked ludocore. Starting a new game on hero difficulty is one of the best gaming experiences of my life. It was the original Doom Eternal. On higher difficulties you had to use every tool imaginable and constantly be switching up mods. Shit was TIGHT!

Jedi Academy is my favorite of the "trilogy", but Jedi Outcast holds a special place in my heart. I remember picking it up from Babbages without a clear understanding of what kind of game it was. I was expecting something kind of basic so I was fucking floored when I realized what I actually got. It took me way too fucking long to get past the Kejim part, but now I legit speedrun it. That game is pure pazak.
