There's no debate. It's AW2. Control is the most 7/10 game ever.

Control was decent, but not much more than that. Think some parts of the lore were cool, but the actual plot of the game wasn't that good and there was too much lore also. The gameplay was fun for a while but not fun enough after 15 hours of playing it. I remember starting the Alan Wake DLC towards the end of the game, played it for an hour and quit. I knew I could only power through like 1 more hour of the game and had to finish it.

I would argue that Control has decent gunplay but it is absolutely not in the same leagues as Max Payne, RE4 or Dead Space. Control's strength is its presentation and general atmosphere, not gameplay.

As for Max Payne I recently replayed the entire series on hard boiled, 1 and 2 are honestly pretty vanilla and way too reliant on the bullet time. 3 is the real standout of the series but people have a hard on against that one for some reason

another thing I didn't like too much but it's probably on me is the alan wake character, I liked his "portrayal" more in the first one since it reminded me of the old ps1 horror games where the guy was just there
