Wow's overworld leveling used to 80% of the entire game. It's where you met people, how you learned to play your class, and exploring was part of your sense of progress.

Now the overworld is completely useless. It's a slow way to level. It's empty of any players. It's like a 10000 square mile wasteland with some landmarks comprised of 2004 visuals peppering the landscape. If you "play wow" like it's 2005, you will be playing a single player RPG that teaches you nothing except how to mow down monsters that are zero threat to you in one or two hits.

It doesn't prepare you for endgame raiding or mythic+, there is zero pvp (unless a level 80 is out bullying noobs), it's pointless unless you care about the old zones' lore. Honestly they should give you an hour or two of tutorials if you're new and if you pass them you get boosted to level 70 and start in the new expansion right away.

So there's a shop that changes stock every month. It sells cosmetic stuff like armor/weapon skins for transmogs, a mount or 2 each month that you buy with Tender, and a tiny handful of returning items from some point in the store's past rotations.
There's a battlepass kinda thing that everyone has which offers monthly tasks like 'kill x raid/dungeon bosses', 'complete x world quests', whatever. Everyone gets up to the same amount of tender each month, plus a cosmetic set/mount for completing enough monthlies, which is very easy to do even for casuals.
Sometimes, but very rarely, they'll do shit in the real money shop with tender bundled in, like 2 mounts plus 600 tender.
Whatever includes extra tender sees massive sales, since nits impossible to get enough tender to buy everything.
Its like 1500 per month. Mounts can be like 400-700. Some full transmog sets are 500-800. Weapon skins can be like 50-150 or more.
A lot of people will buy the epic edition for that bonus tender alone.
