I'm usually interested in RTS remakes, but FFS, this is literally fucking nothing, why are people okay with this shit.

It's literally just an AI texture and a minor lightning change for what, 40$?. That's fucking it, they haven't even promised a single QoL improvements even though DoW1 could easily use many.
They aren't even improving any of the effects, like making the peashooter bolters look a bit better, or just the projectiles in general not feeling as punchy as they should be. They aren't adding even a single extra rock or crack to the flat as fuck maps either.
Also they aren't adding a single piece of new content either.

As much as I would love to see DoW return, this zero effort shit does deserve backlash, and it's surreal seeing people eat this up. Like you tards realize that the DoW1 collection is already on steam. Just copypaste the better camera mod into one of the game's folders and you already got 90% of what this remaster is going to be

after playing so much SC2 with these I really can't feel comfortable without the efficiency. maybe i'll finally git gud and play without SAA.
but still those two commands, SAA and add/remove, makes it so you can select newly created units and manage control groups without looking.
say your units are in control groups 1 and 2. you've just produced another batch of units and want to add them to 2, and get this, WITHOUT LOOKING.
select all army, add to 2 adds new units plus group 1 to group 2, select group 1, add/remove group 1 to pulls group 1 out of group 2. you now have the new units added to group 2 without moving camera.
in SC2 i have SAA as tilde and add/remove as alt. so it's just tilde, shift-2, 1, alt-1.
or create a third group with the new units by tilde, shift-3, 1, alt-1, 2, alt-2.

then again all the pros don't use SAA so maybe it's time to stop being a casual.

nah, DoW1 absolutely could use SAA. There are tons of times when you just have some troops scattered and don't know where the fuck some them are, being able to select them anytime would be great. It's also just good in general to be able to select all units of a specific type to put them into a group
DoW1 might not have the apm intensive economy of SC, but it's combat still absolutely benefits from you using control groups, as there is a lot of unit-countering going on that you have to snappily react to.

that being said, I don't think this remaster will add any new features since they would have likely already announced them. If anything this remaster just crushes my dreams of ever getting an actual improved DoW1 experience.
