It has the greatest customization possibilities, but actually making anything is such a pain in the ass.
Here Comes The Pain is still the most fun to just play.

Turn your monitor on

The game has animations for some of the nastiest bumps ever taken in pro wrestling

Yeah it isn't perfect but it's better than games like Here Come the Pain or Wrestle Kingdom/Day of Reckoning where you end up spamming the same 5 movies over and over again.

You can bind something like 60+ unique grappling moves from standard lock ups in KoC2. You can go through a whole 20 minute match without ever repeating the same move which makes for a pretty realistic simulation of wrestling if you pilot the match in a certain way.

KoC3 is impossible but fire pro in 3d, which would basically be KoC3 would be so kino
Anonymous No.717382236 [Report] >>717382309
>>717382153
KoC2 is already 3D Fire Pro though, just PS2 tech 3D Fire Pro

Same devs, basically the same mechanics except it's much easier to line up strikes

There is a way to get at least one back by taunting after a 2.9 kickout if you have a certain Skill, etc

A lot of that stuff has been recently translated by the mod boys on the cord. Game has a surprising amount of modding/texture replacement/CAW work

tell them to replace the shitty sfxs and mod in ring bounciness
an iso with that and full menu translations, hnnnggg now that would be some kino

Is AEW a legit WCW sized competition for WWE or is it another distant second like Impact / ROH and the like?
Anonymous No.717382836 [Report]
>>717382702
The ring does bounce, you can see it. It just doesn't rattle like HCTP or something.

And there are full menu translations available made by the same Defract guy who does all of the 2K CAWs
There is also a modded sound iso with a lot of the themes replaced by various things, so it is probably possible to replace all the sound though no one has yet

WWE puts on at least two shows every week (raw and smackdown) that gets at least 5000 fans in attendance, and their big events (wrestlemania, summerslam etc) get ten times that
5000 fans would be a top five AEW show for the entire year

Thanks.
So, what's exactly the issue? Not enough money to place a competitive product? Given how WWE became stagnant due to having no competition anyone with decent funds should be able to take over the industry.

Weird middle ground between WCW and ROH numbers. There are some events where AEW is able to sell out stadiums, but most of the time their weekly shows like Dynamite have way less viewers, both in streaming and in-person.
iirc the numbers are going down though because the product has been shit for a while.

There is also the fact that it doesn't need to make a profit because Tony and his dad pay all the expenses, which gives it a lot of leverage.

AEW just kinda sucks
They had momentum when they started out but it fizzled out after a few years

Cable TV in general just has way less viewers these days. 2000s/early 2010s TNA used to draw 2m viewers on Spike and that was a considered a failure. Now Smackdown draws 2m on fucking network TV and that's considered a success. Enough of one to the point that streaming services will pay hundreds of millions for PPV/RAW streaming rights.

AEW draws 500,000-1m and that's considered a big success by Turner, enough to get a big new TV deal.

It's impossible to compete with WWE at this point, too many lifers, too much of an institution like the NFL.

if you're into that kind of thing good for you but AEW is never going to grow while that's what they're putting out

Can't believe Tony ruined Kenny and Okada.
Anonymous No.717386198 [Report]
I wish instead of getting fucking Yuke's to make a budget version of what they were making for WWE, AEW leaned more into the arcadey side of things. Something akin to Saturday Night Slam Masters (1 or 2, either works) would've been awesome. Would main Joe (or Big Bill if he got in).

Okada working as a cocky heel in 12-20 minute matches is better than most of his New Japan main events that went 30+ minutes for no reason with a bunch of bloat (which WWE & AEW have both started copying; main events going 30+ should be a rarity).

>>717386246
He worked his entire AEW World Title run with vertigo, has had back issues for years now, and got Diverticulitis after coming back. The fact that he can still work at all is a miracle.

I could do without the overlong Ospreay-style epics (DoN main event was fucking boring to me and the Bucks vs Ospreay/Swerve match was overrated too) but Hangman/Okada/Fletcher/Shelton & Bobby are based as champs and the women's division has been pretty great for a while.
