ds2 objectively has some of the better levels fromsoft has made. call the game bad however you want but the bastille is better designed than any single hallway only run though of an elden ring level.
also, ds2 is the best set of levels in fromsoft history

Indeed, the levels are the real challenge more so than bosses, and I prefer that. Amazing visual and gimmick variety, each level is wildly different almost like playing Megaman or Zelda.
I made a list once in the past and almost every single stage had something to throw you off and approach it differently. Combat engine might be limited, but they used their genius to keep it fresh. Simple stuff like the knights rushing after you from a mile ago on Iron's Keep makes you play differently and try to efficiently clear a path to the boss, Shrine of Amana forcing you to snipe the casters, or the Drake place with the knights watching your duels as you go up the stairs (and they'll attack if you are a coward)

Overrated. None of the so-called "legacy dungeons" (that was always a retarded fucking name, it simply refers to places with actual level design) were that good besides aesthetics.

Walking around rooftops with convoluted pathways that forced you to restart from the bonfire and was the most annoying gimmick they could have introduced.

Stormveil was so good it ruined most of the rest of the game for me.
Not-Hogwarts was small but looked huge from the outside.
Volcano Manor is just a lava generic place.
Farum Azula is dull.
The only ones that were really up to par were Leyndell and Elphael.
Shadow Keep was also pretty cool.
