why do people spend more time messing with settings rather than playing the game?

first thing I do in a game is turn the voices volume down to like 25%
They had to compile shaders for two hours.

There are over 9000 input and UI customizations you can do in Battlefield and 6 is no exception. The default controls and sense for choppers and jets is unusable for example. Takes a while to get it right. Plus the menu music ain't bad.
