To be fair, it started out slower. I could be stupid, but I don't remember any giant walls of meat hopping around like a ballerina in DeS/DaS like you see in Elden Ring.

I just hate how anime shit's gotten. Used to be people jumped up and then fell at a rate things fall at. Now they jump up, hover for 30 seconds, then change their trajectory and fall wherever you are. Physics are a suggestion to souls games these days.

The heat seeking missile aerials started as early as DaS
The straight sword hollows in undead burg do it

But the hovering in air shit is such ass
I first noticed the lack of momentum in enemy attacks in the ivory king DLC
It's most obvious with the shitty fucking cats holding their paw up for 1-4 seconds before suddenly swiping at mach speed to throw off roll timing
It feels like such a cheap way to increase difficulty

I had hoped it would be a B-team exclusive shenanigan
