I have a very intense love/hate relationship with this game

I remember rage-quitting all the fucking time as a kid because I could never get past the lava levels

It's pretty good, except:
>Some hitboxes are fucking stupid.
>Rev Roll is inconsistent feeling sometimes on ramps.
>Mantling on some ledges/platforms is fucking stupid (platforms that have physics lean / or falling ones).
>Clyde (Blinky) is a hoeass bitchass lil nigga.
>Yellow Pac-Marine boss is boring as shit.
>and final boss is easy compared to everything it takes to get there.
Other than that, it's pretty solid.

Yeah, lava levels are penis. Mostly due to rev roll and ledge mantling things I mentioned.
You're lucky because the boss of the lava levels, Clyde (Blinky), is the hardest in the game.

The game is a solid 8/10 as long as you don't try to 100% it.

That one slide portion at the end of one of the lava levels was so fucking retarded. I couldn’t find a consistent way to get past it, it seems like pure luck whether or not you’ll roll off the side.

I never really had an issue with that part. You're supposed to pull back on the dpad to slow down your speed and use the other to move the camera around so you carefully trickle down the slopes. Only died like, 2 times doing it and it was at the last subsection of the slopes

Just like Pac-Man World 1, it's a game that has great ideas and fun to be had, but really lacks the polish it needed to ace the test, so to speak. An AA platformer, not quite AAA. I imagine Re-Pac is gonna rip out all the heart it had, but in exchange it's gonna play more consistently.

Idk man the remake trailer looks promising. I especially like the redesigns for the bosses and the new customization for the hub world. Younger me would've went crazy for that.

I found the original to be challenging but rewarding, even if World 5 was a true test of patience. I will say Haunted Boardwalk is probably one of my favorite levels in the game.
Clyde in the Caldera was easier than Pinky's Revenge.

I struggled with Pinky more than Clyde when I learned you can just rev roll her mech after dying to her around 40-ish times. By the time I got to Clyde, I was already 100% the levels prior to that boss.
