I really don't care how "optional" or "generous" the gacha in a game is. I don't want gacha, period. I want to pay one time for it and own it and have the characters I can play with make sense. To play through the story from start to end at my own pace, and for it to last as long as the story demands rather than for how long they can milk it.

I'll take anything Suikoden at this point, as long as it doesn't die out. Hopefully the gacha money can fund future titles /copium. It looks really good though. Seems like there's a decent amount of depth to the battles and party composition stuff. The character art looks great too. Viktor looks like he's recovering from a divorce though lol

Yes and I bought both of those games on release, but they're completely missing the point by making the new game a gacha, I want to recruit all the characters through gameplay, not by paying real money to gamble on a low percentage chance to get those characters.

On the bright side for anyone upset about this, it is a gacha game that has zero chance of success, so it's going to get EoS'd in a few months after release. So you wont have to witness the corpse of Suikoden get paraded around town for long.

I didn't remember the games well enough to know what people were talking about when complaining about 2's pacing, but playing them again with the remasters, god damn, 2's pacing is terrible. What a fucking slog of a first third that game is.
