I don't know why people were saying the game is too easy. There's quite a few things where you're kind of dumb and die a few times before realizing what you're supposed to do like in Mario Odyssey. Genuinely good game, anyone posting webms showing how dumb it is only do so from world 1 or 2, later game challenges are up there, and HP upgrades are optional, I beat the game on the base 3 HP which meant everything 1-shot killed you beyond world 3 or so.
So its challenge is LITERALLY up to you, you control the buttons you press.

That fight probably has one of the highest voxel counts in the game with all the banana mush / gold that keeps being generated in that fight constantly.

Now. Maybe you could compare that to literal mountains on other layers that would in theory hold way more voxels.
But while I haven't exactly analysed the game in depth in any way to be certain one way or another. I'm fairly sure the game simply doesn't render most of the voxels that you can't see. But in the final fight, since it's wide and flat, you'll have pretty much everything on-screen.

When I first saw them prior to release, I kind of feared that they would be some generic, replacement for more unique characters. Kind of like nuPaperMario Toads or something.

But not only does every other layer have their own non-rocky inhabitants. But the Fractones themselves have a lot more character and personality than I expected. Honestly, if Nintendo are on a trend of releasing new IP's (Bananza will probably get a sequel or two) then fuck it, give Ashley a shot at her own.

Little anti-hero witch goes on an enchanted adventure on her broomstick to seek the one thing a little spooky witch like her lacks... friendship.

Warioware already gave her enough to work on, and I think with the right devs they could make a fun game based around her. Characterize her a bit like Wednesday Adams, who is popular with the young-uns at the moment, and a bunch of dark family-friendly humor. I think it could work.

It's just with Pauline's... popularity at the moment I'm not sure if they'd want to make yet another IP starring a young girl. They'd probably get accusations.

All they had to do was making knockout tour the de-facto intermission mode and add a bit more structure to incentivize doing open world content over just randomly stumbling upon it.
Also it is supremely stupid that mirror mode is so hard to unlock for what it is. I really wish they would've went with a reverse mode instead since so many tracks are already driven in reverse in certain intermissions

It's odd, but playing the game i got used to the redesign much quicker than i thought. he only does the silly tongue out face right next or after finding a banana and otherwise does a variety of expressions. I especially like his huge new grin

There is a sweet spot, which is why i prefer a nonlinear game over an open world game. Being able to use alternate approaches to solve something is fun, but being able to just go in a straight line for everything gets stale quickly.
Basically something needs structure to feel like subverting it. Climbing up a castle wall or going through the sewers to breach the defense lines is cooler than walking into an open camp
