Look up the name on metroidconstruction. It's total conversion for Super Metroid to make it into what's basically an extensive Metroid Fusion romhack.

Most of the complaints were regarding the difficulty, which v1.1 band-aided the worst cases of. You're still dying in a few hits regardless though. Bosses definitely require you to dodge shit.

I don't know what MMXC's excuse is, since they're working with HTML5, which is a FUCKLOAD less work than porting the contents of a GBA game into the realm of a SNES, in assembly. Obviously these guys are doing this shit in their spare time (probably K0 as well), but still.

Don't know what Silksong's excuse is though since they have a team at it.

Fusion romhacking didn't exist when X-Fusion started development, where-as Super Metroid's scene had a lot of the underlying game assembly documented already. That's how long X-Fusion has been cooking.

Metroid Fusion controls better and is more streamlined in good ways compared to Super Metroid, obviously there are issues like the changes to wall jumping and the games linearity but still.

To be fair, it even says before you download it that it's not for casual Metroidfags. That being said, it's hard but I don't think it's hard enough to warrant negative reviews like some stealth kaizo or something. Ghostomire kicked my ass until I learned I could just jump over his special attack and didn't need to pelt him with missiles and charged shots.

Outside of the less floaty gravity, and removing the need to item cycle, I can't recall what all else Fusion did to the physics handling. It added ledge grabs, but wall jumps exist and this SM romhack assumes you have knowledge of it.

Regular-ass bullets worked? That would have saved me a death since I kept trying to line up charge shots after exhausting missiles.

Dread on hard difficulty didn't have enemies hit you for as much damage as v1.0 did.
