What’re some video games that you’re glad to have moved on from? Are you sure about that?

I was lucky enough to have technical issues with my computer keep me away from WoW for a while, I might still be playing it otherwise

I lament what could have been if I had been able to play during that period but am happy to have had the chance to escape before it went to total shit.

Frankly Mettaton's a total step-up from Spamton.

What about Tenna?

WoW. I don't regret playing it for years, but I'm glad I escaped. I'll always think back on it fondly

Pokemon TCG Pocket.
Too muh fucking time consumption just to pull non full arts. Plus the game meta is kinda lacking.

SS13. it's a troon-infested hellhole that'd make bluesky's overmoderation seem mild.

TF2, 5.5k hours.
I realized I hadn't enjoyed it in a long time and decided to drop it cold turkey in April. My life has mysteriously improved since then.

Tenna's the one cockteasing Mettaton with all kinds of salacious programs. Grooming an innocent little ghost into becoming a gay robot.

I was chasing a dragon. No matter how much I played, I'd never be a happy teenager who stumbled upon MARIO_KART for the first time again.

Overwatch and Teamfight Tactics. I still might go for a few games with a friend once every few months but thankfully I'm well over them at this point. Used to be a huge PESfag too, wouldn't mind doing so again but footy games haven't been good in almost a decade, sadly.
Now I just burn time on FFXIV as I have for a long time but "soon" I'll finally be able to wind it down for good.

Uhh, got any singleplayer vidya, y’all?

WoW, the core game itself, was never particularly good. It was a time sink. A "background noise" skinner box kind of game that was easy to get into and build muscle memory so you could still socialize with your guild and friends on vent while re-running instances or doing pvp. I don't miss it the slightest because all my friends stopped playing after WotLK and all that was left without them was a chore simulator. Was kind of inevitable as online gaming grew.

I'm somewhat autistic, but not to the point of putting insane amounts of time into singleplayer titles to the point I had to "move on" from them.
Except that one time I finally wanted to build a good savefile in Digimon World 2003 clearing the main stuff and challenges and having all digivolutions be unlockable all legendary weapons etc. only for my data to get corrupted out of the blue to where it can't be loaded after over 200 hours of that shit.
I'm still not sure I've moved on for good and I'm definitely not glad about it.

You don't usually need to move on from singleplayer vidja, you just finish it and do something else.

Roblox. I will always look back on it fondly dont get me wrong but seeing the current state of it after it suddenly became mainstream thanks to e-celeb faggotry makes me really fucking sad. it has gotten absolutely alien how much that community evolved compared to when i first played in the early 2010s, I don't even think people think of the same game as I do when discussing it. The pedo shit and sketchy business decisions that it constantly got into really hurt me from talking about or returning to.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who was together with a bipolar chick for some years. One day he comes home, and uncharacteristically his girl surprised him with a grandiose dinner. Well, as they finished their plates she announces that she made the dinner in celebration of the fact that she has found a new partner and that whatever they had was over.

To be honest, I would've been fine either way.
That being said, do you have any vidya stories to share?

It was more Cata than Wrath that saw the eventual exodus of its core player base that had been playing for years, but Wrath was the one that introduced several cancers late into the expansion that led to the decline with both its existing casual and hardcore players and slowly killed the social aspects of the game. The worst of those was the dungeon finder matchmaking system. It turned out that turning rando LFG runs into a cross-server chore-sprinting simulator filled with a grab bag of idiots, min-maxing control freaks and literal babies was not a good core idea to evolve a social game or a good fit for most servers that had built "cultures" that evolved separately from each other.
