I don't get why master duel doesn't make a more comprehensive tutorial, maybe people who've played it to long no longer understand what it would take to learn the game ideally with the fewest amount of steps/roadblocks, but gradually introducing the player to the most common staples throughout the games history piece by piece, but like only staples that would still be relevant in modern play so no time is wasting reading card text that they'll never use again

Like detaching materials, when I first picked up master duel and had to learn all these newfangled cards from the "extra deck", I didn't really need to know what detach meant because the actual numbering of the materials helped rectify that. It wasn't until Purrely did it ever come up, for me at least, the relevance of having specific cards attached and detached having an affect on the game state. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just think Xyz ended up being easier to learn over fusions and synchros. At least, Xyz don't need tuners or spells, and contact fusions are almost literally the same thing as Linking

There has been maybe 2 "true infinite loops" in master duels lifespan, Konami actually hard coded an out, I'm pretty sure. One of the loops included morphing jar, I'm pretty sure, and if an infinite loop occurs, the game will decide whoever caused the loop to occur to lose, though initially the game would bug out and stop processing cards after awhile, probably due to memory leak caused by the loop or something. It's since been completely nullified as I understand it.

It's literally not though. A lot of modern Xyz cards are built around abusing how materials interact with overlay, like costs to activate being mats are banished when they leave the field, cards like Goblin Bikers detaching opponent's own materials, or Eclipse Twins reviving Deadnamer with different Xyz Materials than when it was first on the field. This shit has been present since the beginning with cards like Gaia Dragon, Thunder Charger and later the Burning Abyss cards.
Rhongo being unaffected by card effects, but since he doesn't have targeting protection he is affected by Xyz Encore

Red Dragon Archfiend has a similar problem with Crimson Gaia not able to revive Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss, for example.
The original attack thing is a deep cut. Destiny Hero - Dystopia can still activate even it's under the effects of Shrink, because Shrink changes the monster's original attack while Dystopia checks the Monster Card for the reference value to us. Any other monster in the game wouldn't activate under these conditions.

I came across a video about MTG's "fail to find" rule https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qhX_fohdgY
It discusses MTG's own version of Painful Choice (called Gifts Ungiven), with a few differences: instead of "you choose 5, opponent chooses 1", it's "you choose 4 different cards, opponent chooses 2". The unchosen cards are still dumped to GY.
In Yugioh you obviously can't cast Painful Choice if you have fewer than 4 cards in your deck. In MTG, not only you can do that, you can have 4+ unique cards in the deck and literally lie to your opponent by saying "I fail to find 4 unique cards in my deck" and just reveal 1-3 different cards. That is completely legal.
I think this exemplifies the greatest difference between MTG and Yugioh.
In Yugioh the ruling is generally always looking ahead. I'd even say kind of paternalistic. If the result of an action isn't what the card designer wanted, you are forbidden from even playing it (e.g. playing Raigeki on an empty board, or the mess that is Gozen/Rivalry). It's a very eastern way of thinking. Respect your elders, follow the rules, don't act smart, do what the cards say or don't play it at all.
In MTG generally it's a "sure you can". Go ahead, cast Wrath on an empty board. Go ahead, cast that Gifts when your deck is empty. Technically nothing has changed and you'll just waste your mana, but sure you can. It emphasizes the player's freedom, even if it's the freedom to shoot their own foot.

in my replays though, 90% of games I won going second where the opponent went full combo, like versus Voiceless Voice, Yubel, Snake-Eyes etc. featured Super Poly and Chaos Angel. the only ones that didn't, were older formats were I was hard second with drnm/evenly.
My deck has almost no in-engine go second tools outside of Druiswurm, but I do run Hop Ear so if I switch out super poly I could Hop Ear + Druis = Askaan for a banish and a burial

Hand traps are kind format dependent. Right now board breakers are in, because of Ryzeal and Maliss, both of which play right through generic interrupts with little to no consequence.
Superpoly isn't a bad choice, but there's also Metaltronus, Ultimate Slayer, Ghost Reaper (decent at best) and Lancea. You can't pack all of them in one deck, and you can't efficiently prepare to duel both, but that's what the format kinda is right now.

I want a fun deck that uses tokens (no FA, I've played against it quite a bit I lust for another token ARCHETY PE). Also please don't recommend some predplant boss monster in isolation. ED boss decks are boring as fuck.
