Not really, but compared to most games in the genre, yes. Everything about is meh but that it even has alot of it puts it above the rest.
If you just like the usual activities in the crafting and shit games, you'll get addicted to this game for a good amount of hours. But each hour will feel empty and hallow.

As somebody who went from Sandrock to Portia, discovering Higgins and the constant competition to fuck him over and keep myself on top of the monthly ranking boards was truly something special

They're playersexual. The only "muh woke" thing is that everyone refuses to use pronouns for (You) instead of "the builder" which sounds more awkward than anything else.

Sandrock is the only game that has managed to make people playersexual but also write them as completely normal cool bros that aren't constantly trying to have sex with you. Even when you are getting letters from a secret admirer it is just from an incredibly autistic dude that just wants to be your friend.

It probably helps that there is a 100 hour long story so you have to be able to interact with everyone normally since everyone has their own important shit going on.

It's pretty fantastic if a bit janky. You will be hard pressed to find another game as charming as this one when it comes to the townspeople you talk to every day.
It is essentially the gold standard that all these other "comfy" games should strive to meet and surpass.

It's a gather/refine/build/deliver game. I expected nothing but was pleasantly surprised. The localization is decent. Invest into a horse asap.

I'm actually not happy to hear that.

I liked Portia but it just goes on for too damn long. I actually only had just the last set of story mission to go but I was just so burnt out on the game I stopped playing instead of pushing through that final stretch.

That dress couldn't be any tighter

One thing I miss from Portia vs Sandrock is the MC having a bit more of a set character to them vs Sandrock being more blank slate-ish, just because of how fun it was to see them seethe like crazy at their dad when he finally visits because of what a useless deadbeat he's been.
It also makes an interesting development if you're with Ginger, as then it's only because of his adventuring bullshit that a long lost treatment to her sun allergy is found (sunscreen lotion)
