It's basically a free battle pass in concept that unlocks items for certain heroes until it finishes the set once you get high enough level. Right now it's a new set for WD, LC, and Vengeful Spirit. They'll probably will cycle new sets I'm assuming, they also added a antique system that gives you a free set out of 100 from previous years with a chance of a arcana when you hit certain levels. You gain xp for the system by winning or losing matches.

Once when I was playing Dota 2 with 2 friends after a long break, We had a bad game, feeding and smurfes. One of my friend decide that fuck it and He is left in half of a match, no problem I also wanted leave but I did want to finish that shitty game. My second friend that also was pissed on this game get triggered by it. He was bullshiting this game for whole 15 minute without a second of rest.

After this game I got so tired of both Dota 2 and my friend that I didn't play Dota 2 since than and I do not regret it. Also I avoid playing games with this friends (and as I have no other friend I don't play multi anymore) I do drink and go out with them but no more games I'm still pissed on His bullshiting annoying monologue.

It's a different breed of fun. I've been playing League recently as a long dota player and Dota has much more impactful team fighting overall with less focus on blatant kill-this-mob-for-a-buff objectives. That being said, if you die you put you and your team at a massive disadvantage. In Dota, the main game is to kill or distract the enemy heroes to give yourself an opportunity to destroy the buildings to win, and the mini game is killing creeps. from what I've played of LoL the main game is killing creeps in the jungle to get buffs so you can win against your enemies by attrition and the mini game is the teamfighting that happens sometimes.

Dota is easily one of the GOAT. But I can't play it because it makes me so fucking angry and salty. Team-based PvP that requires teamwork (that's not FPS where people can just run and gun by themselves) is just very infuriating in nature.
