I just looked at an IPS screen after weeks of using an OLED monitor. IPS is actually disgusting.

Miniled gives you all the benifits of OLED but no burn in ever.
When MicroLED actually happens OLED will be a thing of the past, no burn in and very accurate colours and blacks.

you dont have enough zones so theres blooming, you can see the squares lit up as you move the cursor around against a black background

then to reduce blooming you need to use VA for higher contrast ratio, but vas tend to have slower pixel response times. Its unknown if fast va panels even exist in handheld form factors.
Then the miniled zones have a lag to them which can hurt gaming perf.

Oled meanwhile has pixel perfect lighting and 0.1 ms pixel response times and no issues for HDR

Burn-in is largely a non-issue for newer OLEDs. Honestly I canโ€™t go back to IPS after OLED. Heck even high tier TN is better than shit IPS.

Yeah when you get a decent display that costs thousands.
A shitty small 800p 60hz cheap OLED will get fucked harder. OLED quality matters.

by far the bigges hurdle for oled monitors is dealing with burn in mititgation, mandatory pixel refreshes, brightness limiters and having to hide static content

but besides that everything else is super minor relative to being able to have best image quality by far

it depends on the sub-pixel layout
ppi
operating system

If you had 10k ppi there it'd be easy to read
rgb sub pixel layout is handled better by windows than woled or qd oled triangular layouts, apples os meanwhile doesnt do sub pixel rendering
Steam deck being an 800p display for gaming perf reasons is worse ppi than phones and other such devices

So just run them with lossless upscaling. The deck keeps getting performance boosts and features that actually improve it over time, unlike consoles that only ever update to try and screw consumers and pirates.
