I was playing it for about 8 years.
I just returned to it from a lengthy break to grab the anniversary quartz, spend it all, and I fucked off right after (hopefully forever) the moment I recalled those soul-crushing moments where all that hard-earned quartz would give me nothing and I'd go back to saving up from scracth.
When it comes to FGO, if not any gacha game, you simply cannot be F2P. It's a miserable experience.

It got pity (a proper one) about a year ago or so.
It's 900 quartz (which is, without counting event/campaign handouts) is about 1 year of saving up.
I only works once per banner. If you hit pity and then spend 900 quartz again, you're not guaranteed anything.
The pity doesn't carry over to other banners and the pity counter will be gone the moment the banner is gone.

Isn't that a gacha game? I don't play those.

You forgot you need to roll the same character 2-3+ times if you want to clear all of the high level content in 3 turns (which is important because you have to farm these nodes literal hundreds or even thousands of times with buffs that only last for 3 turns)

Really? Looking at her kit, with her 2nd skill she can do 200% damage versus Man and Star enemies twice in 3 turns. And she also has a 100% charge skill that she can use twice like Arcueid could. Seems like with those effects alone, she'd be top tier.
