Damage how? I dont see any of the big companies using it in their games. The only western studio who does gacha for example is EA and ONLY in their sports games. In japan, bamco, capcom, fromsoftware, square enix, have no gacha influences in their AAA games. What are you talking about?

Yeah I agree.
The 3D gacha trend at least has some visually appealing levels sometimes, but it's all undermined by the game being a gacha.

But they haven't? Gachas developed into their own separate genre with its own fanbase and are not affecting normal games. If anything blame Fortnite for popularizing the live service model, now every game needs to have battle passes, micro transactions, fomo, and a "roadmap" of updates and content even if it should have been a one and done release.
