The reason for the beef is even funnier. Doto's handlers would get agitated when discussing Opera. Doto would pick up on this and develop a negative association with the name, getting angry whenever hearing it. It is specualted that he ended up misidentifying Opera's jockey as the T.M Opera O despised by his handlers while remaining friendly with the actual Opera.

Finally my 9* stam. I always believe that shitty run will give you a good sparks. This run was intended for making CM umas, but I changed to spamming races midway since I get Migraine, Slacker, Night Owl, and Practice Poor in like 3-4 turns.
I don't know if I want to change my 6*Stam 3*Pow Taiki though since a lot of people borrow my Taiki.

>Pretty Derby from S1 to S3

I recommend watching RTTT first at least, it's just a 4 episodes OVA that was also combined into a movie. Similar style since they share staff too

Movie is good but it's kinda like entering a game franchise with a new entry full of QoLs and mechanics, and then going back to an older entry with more stilted controls and graphics (aka the first season).
That is to say, you'll appreciate the evolution more if you start from the beginning, the other shows are good too.

The real Goldship was notoriously difficult to raise, so much so that the owners insisted the video game Goldship be a pain in the ass as well. After it was implemented, they insisted the real Goldship was still worse.

Goldship suffered no injuries post race and as of this post is still alive and well, leading people to speculate he never actually tried hard.

Goldship was notoriously tempremental, once getting mad at another horse and rearing up, causing him to lose a race which he was heavily favored to win, wiping out 12 billion yen in bets.

Goldship became a breeding stallion after his retirement and apparently loves breeding so much that once he heard the word breeding being discussed so assumed he was going to get to breed the next day. When he didn't he sulked for a week.

Goldship is noticeably show offish and kind to his fans and people taking pictures to him.

There's a short article about how the horses are the stars in Japan. The jockeys are a big thing too, I think, but the horses themselves are the main attraction. Since I don't really know much about the sport itself, I can't say how big of an effect a jockey can have on a horse's performance. Pretty significant, most likely.

Well Jockeys have their own share too. You have Lemaire that can give Deep Impact his only loss against Japanese horses, but you also have Wada that when he stopped jockeying TM Opera O, he started to win.

Zoning laws. Most farm type animals are illegal in suburban areas. You can keep a horse on a half acre property with a small corral long as the grass is decent enough for grazing. Getting hay is the tough part, oats are cheap. But getting a vet to come visit is more expensive than a dog

Upkeep is the main issue. Technically this can go way down if you have land and the grass for them to hang out on. It's reason why so many people in Arizona attempt to have horses because they have alot of land and buying a horse is cheap, sometimes free, but nothing grows out there, not even grass, so they learn how much it costs to keep them fed.

And you don't NEED much space to maintain a horse, proven several times over in various parts of the world in various times of history, just dealing with the poop, smell, and wanting to see them run around comes naturally. They still have horses in New York City although they're always under fire for various reasons.

Without the proper shoes, yes. And I say proper because there are horse shoes designed for various surfaces, not just one-and-done-metal ones. Might have special ones for snow/ice or ones if on Asphalt all day. And damn I didn't know about the ones used for racing.

There could be medicinal ones as well for recovery or literal hoof shoes if not doing something so investing as nailing horse shoes.

Because it is. Season 1 spends so long orbiting around Special Week fawning over Silence Suzuka that it forgets to introduce anything that would actually make you care about any of these characters once the novelty of horse girls has worn off. Like that's a key thing you need to do with these sorts of shows, there needs to be an emotional draw beyond the gimmick.

>Puts zero emphasis on the fact that Grass Wonder thought of Special Week as a rival, it literally gets mentioned for like five seconds and is never brought up again
>Broye, a seeming one-off character from France, seemingly introduced into Japan late into the season because the creators were aware Special Week had no dedicated obstacle in the narrative

There's a reason S2 is considered one of the best. It does the cutesy moe stuff and then 50% is actual sports drama with Teio getting beat down by constant injuries to the point of wanting to give up.

It's funny because I saw a recent review by an employee for a place that deals with trail rides at a (beautiful) place in the middle of nowhere and was really angry he had to work 7 days a week and had to feed the horses at sunrise and sundown. Makes me wonder how he got the job because it wasn't near any major city and taking care of animals on a non- 9-5 schedule is a given.

All of those are quite unoptimal. You have too much stamina for mile races (aim for like 550-650) on some ofthem, and then you have went way beyond overkill with gold recovery skills.

I would use the third one, it has the highest number of good skills, and has an S aptitude in terrain (+5% acceleration) and distance (+5% speed).

The day to day isn't bad imo. Owning horses for work purposes though is pretty tough. They get hurt a lot more often than horses that are just owned for pleasure and need rest time / vet care. They also have a lot needs that you need specialists for, so sometimes you're sort of need to be a diy vet / ferrier if you don't want to spend a lot.

i would attempt to explain but my japanese is only good enough to notice obvious mismatches in the voiced dialogue and translated text.
they basically try their hardest to make the script sound like a saturday morning cartoon. basic phrases like just telling someone to be quiet will get changed to like "BEAT IT". it's all relatively small stuff where the "feeling" gets across but there's just no REASON for them to have changed it to begin with. you can tell the localizer grew up with cartoons and is probably 30-35 years old.
i just have to tolerate it because i can read english like 300 times faster than japanese.

only S1 spends too much time on meaningless shit, it's not even proper cgdct or moe and you can tell that it's because the franchise was at a very early development stage. S2 is regarded as the best, S3 is worse than 1 because la negra kitasan is a shitty protag, RTTT OVA is very good and the movie is kino. CinGray is a bit divisive, for me, it's too shonen-like for what I'm looking for in this franchise

That's the thing though, the later series take much more exaggerated liberties with the IRL stories to better build up conflict and reasons to care about a race. Beginning of a New Era takes some wild creative spins on what actually happened with Agnes Tachyon for example.

S1 felt like it was too scared to do anything big despite already making up wins for Fraud Week.

Some people will apply for literally anything, say anything, and then do anything just to keep a job. Usually this is someone with little to no marketable skills who is facing pretty severe pressure to have a stable income.
This was probably a guy who had never worked with animals before, and had no idea what the job would be like. The employer probably needed someone badly, and hired him after he said 'yes' every single time they asked him if he would be willing to do x or y thing.

Things are going to fall apart more from there I think in NYC. I don't know if that horse was a draft or not but they'll work themselves to death if given the choice. Not to mention the care of them, wondering how that horse got to that point. Still, you have to realize how out of touch people get with certain animals if they're not there with them.

Still gets me when people are traumatized by their cat or dog dying to old age, or when the large dogs especially are dealing with pain and they don't know what to do. Crying and mourning I get and have done myself, but they are not gonna live that long. And arguing against myself, I'm 50/50 with horse racing because of how much bad stuff I know goes on behind the scenes, especially with breeding, although I know not every horse industry person is involved.

I don't think there's an easy answer for what to do with pets and livestock overall, but if any of you anons have some or one, please take care of them.

Yes, the maintenance of keep theses horses and equipment along with the personnel in the middle of NYC is very high. I've seen them in other cities for much cheaper, but Phoenix is much more horse friendly then Manhattan is. Imagine trying to navigate a trailer into NYC.

And it it wasn't clear, most if not all of those NYC stables have history.

They're hella unique, having to special elevators to get them up and down, and the smell probably even worse from how compacted the place is. There was definitely differences between the more wide open stables in outdoor ranches and more smaller ones at places like horse arenas. Can only imagine how a vertical, urban horse building smells like.

And fuck animal rights activists their end goal is human extinction and not joking, been attacked by several (well more scuffles and thrown objects, plenty of name calling at me) in the past. I know they mean well in the end, but holy shit so many are retarded. Extremism is never good.

The horse was having a shit day overall and the previous had 3 incidents that would've qualified them for a new horse, but managed to get their attempt done. When it came time for the german girl, the vets refused to let her swap him out since he only had 3 out of the 4 bad attempts.

Then he started doing his shit, she had a woman moment and it became history. All in all, it was the fault of the olympics' vets for forcing the horse to go out again because of "erm, ackshually" when it clearly wasn't having any of it and was done.

But still, fuck that bitch with an iron poker up her ass, she started whipping the horse, hitting him and yelling at it in a fit of woman moments

a single roll is a 3% chance of getting a 3*
so unless my math is wrong its like 0.263% chance to roll 3 3* on a 10 roll, unlikely but not impossible, when i was rerolling i got 3 SSRs on a 10 rolls a couple of times across a few dozen 10 rolls
