TF, I just realized RTS is just as stupid as a fighting game you memorize an order of inputs, but in RTS you have to clear that array of inputs really fast. Oh, and that array is way longer than in a fighting game. In a fightan, itโ€™s usually something like AABBCC jump aabcbc and done. But in RTS, the sequence just keeps going buildings, techs, units and it barely ever stops. It can be something like ZW1ZE2Z5QQQQQ3ZW6QQQQSPACE1ZQโ€ฆ

While the clicks don't achieve anything in game, they're done so the player's hands are always as active as possible so that if shit goes down their brain is already operating quickly and can react faster.

The only competitive gaming that is entertaining is team-based, like counter strike. The collaboration, communication, and shared execution of strategy and tactics makes it engaging. The destruction of the enemy through exemplifies the communal spirit of humanity, and its ability to crush any competition when perfected. This is why football, is the greatest, most cerebral sport in the world. If a CS match was just two autists trying to click on each other's head for 20 minutes it would be just as boring as a StarCraft click-off. This is the reason 5 total people watch track and field sports until there's a nationalistic bent to draw them in every four years.

That's what metal spots are for. In 8v8, your frontlines (and sea vs sea and air vs air) slug it out after everyone's grabbed the spots within reach and whichever frontline holds the territory better gets the metal reclaim from unit wrecks.
