kino. I enjoyed the difficulty. patched to 1.1 after the ice parasite tower climb, which was stupid af.
probably gonna try hard and omega difficulty modes in the upcoming days. I wouldnt recommend this for anyone who hasnt played any smetroid hacks.

some parts are more like puzzles if you will. for example you get chased by sa-x and you need to escape. the game wants you to figure out your escape route. you will trial and error that part 50+ times until you found a working solution. there is no way around dying. its literally impossible to do it on your first try no matter how good you are, imagine hellruns.

no speed run tech is required at least for the regular story. I believe there are 2-3 speedrun tricks required at the end for optional rockets/etanks. one was a speed mockball the the others were weird charge keep mechanics they stole from hyper metroid where you keep your speed by switching directions midair. you will still be able to get through the game without those but you probably wont get 100%.

I'm enjoying it so far. I like the changes to the gameplay. Not a fan of the writing, feels hokey with the multiple choice options of dialogue.
