I honestly like the top one more. Bottom is just for screen shots. But when actually playing the game, your focus needs to be on your task and not pulled away by shit like that puddle.

Which, by the way, is also less realistic than the top picture. Puddles aren't mirrors. They aren't perfectly flat glass. Water is in constantly motion from the slightest hint of a breeze or rain droplet. And the ripples would last for like 10 minutes before it calmed down completely. The top picture is more likely what you'd see.
