Yes. In fact it doesn't get enough hate. Even if the games weren't buggy as shit, and borderline unplayable at launch. It would still be boring as shit, with nothing to actually do or find
And it's hilarious how people try to deflect using the previous game, because I don't know why I need to tell you this. But a console RPG that bills itself as open world, shouldn't have the same layout and amount of content as fucking Game Boy and Nintendo DS games.

Eh, I'd still say Gen 8 is slightly better. It at least has Set Battles, a Battle Tower, far fewer bugs, and better competitive balance.

Me too. It's a shame the only competitively viable form of Muk is its hideous Alolan form. Poison/Dark is just such a good typing. STAB Knock Off compliments Poison Jab wonderfully.

I will forever hold the opinion, Gen 8 was mostly just bland and generic, it didn't do anything special and mostly gets hate for being the first game to add the dex-cut

Gen 9 was an active insult to the player. Having all of 8's sins up amplified, and not even playable when it was released. At the very fucking least I could enter the buildings for Gen 8, they was something to give the illusion the towns weren't just glorified arena's for the gyms, which by the way I the shitty minigames for 9 were way fucking worse.

Probably. There's less fucking about in the wilderness but the bike pokemon can do most of the shit that Sneasler/Wyrdeer/etc. could. There's more structure with formal gyms and trainer battles on top of going out in the wild and finding a big fuckoff pokemon to beat up before it crushes you with a boulder. I personally found it a little less charming but still enjoyable.

i think it was fine. it needed a battle tower and options to turn off exp share and turn on set battle rules, but aside from that i enjoyed it

I don't mind these, all of these are optional from the players part. They're not what's wrong with the game fundamentally

I would say the general performance(obvious) and lack of level scaling are the main things they need to fix. They really need to think about the second one if they're doing open world again. And they should have more things to do in the overworld

It has one good storyline and that's Arven taking care of his dog. Outside of online battles, the game feels shallow and unfinished, but that part is fun at least.

It wasn't as good as SWSH. The characters are way less memorable, only pedophiles actually like any of the girls, and the pokemon aren't that amazing.

The super secret gold pokemon even looks like a cheese string mascot

No, and it's literally one of the best now.

Played it on the Switch 2 . . . one of the greatest Pokémon games of all time, the contrast between it and BDSP (Gen IV slop) is night and day
