I have known people who have named their offspring after video game characters. I used to work with a guy who named both his young boys Link and Ganon.
If Dovahkiin is still alive, he'll be 14 years old this year. Think about that shit. Imagine your parents naming you after a fictional character from a corporate product just so that they could win a contest back in 2011 when you were born.

People will name children because of what is sacred or traditional to them.
Video game naming along with TV, movie etc. are a sign of the consumerist religion that people follow.
