Absolutely awful game. MGS1,2 and 3 were all fantastic 10/10 games. V was dreadful.

Even Volgin just gives up and dies when he realizes that you are not his target. Not a single moment of catharsis.

Shadow of the Colossus is more bittersweet than depressing. It was a give away from the start that dormin was just using you and he tells you right off the bat that you're going to pay for it before you see Wander turn more sickely throughout the gayme. Really the fact that the game doesn't end in total tragedy is the twist of the game

I think that's all made worse by the fact all that happens and then the game just ends abruptly...
There's zero closure - Venom barely reacts to any of this stuff happening, and none of it ends up having any impact on the rest of the series other than questionable retcons.
It just feels like a completely hollow experience because none of it matters at all.
The ruse twist in the last five minutes just has no impact whatsoever.

It was only real in MGS2 because Ocelot is a spirit medium like his father. Then he hypnotizes himself in MGS4 to keep the ruse going. TPP actually makes it more believable with how Ocelot uses hypnosis on himself to forget that Venom is a fake.
