I did the story yesterday and I was a little worried about the puzzle stuff because of what people were saying but it's literally the easiest shit in the world so long as you do standard RPG things like read text and talk to NPCs. When they don't know what to do with Yshtola, they have her fake die for a few story chapters or so. I was anti Scion for most of the game's life because it took most of them all of ARR, HW, and StB to become actual characters than whatever 1/2 note they were for years. Shadowbringers they finally decided to flesh out some of the characters and Endwalker did a bit more. Only in Dawntrail did I realize that they really do need to take 6 years to develop people because almost everyone new in Dawntrail was the same one note faggot as an ARR Scion.

I think the big problem with the current major MMOs (FFXIV, WoW, GW2, ESO) is that there isn't as much variety in ideas anymore. Somehow, everyone just copies each other, but the biggest problem with XIV is that even though the game engine isn't even older than the original WoW engine, there are still so many limitations, and I think CBU3 is largely to blame for this because they are simply resting on their old glory.

They're different. Sphene from base Dawntrail in an Endless. The Sphene from 7.2 on is the real deal whose body was preserved.

The 7.x series was in all likelihood written and planned out outside of minor changes when DT launched. Any course correcting would have happened literally this patch (I genuinely believe the awesome cutscene our WoL gets at the climax was a result of this and Wuk was probably the one that shut down Calyx)

TP shouldn't be brought back, it was already arbitrary for most of its existence and the RAM associated with its UI elements is better spent on other things. Tank stances shouldn't come back unless they can figure out what to do with them, for any job but WAR they didn't really have any interactivity with the job's actual skills (for WAR it changed whether your actual attacks were pure offense or if they also had a self-heal and small defense buff built in), for DRK it was basically whether your job worked like it was supposed to or not depending on whether you had DPS stance on to my memory. VPR seems like it should be using a stance system down to the game actually delineating between whether you're in swords mode or twinblade mode, but it doesn't.

Ultimately I think making the stance system be worthwhile would require a lot of thought and pretty much redesigning all tanks and one or two DPS jobs.
