We should petition by talking about it and signal boosting this problem, and make it known so that they properly earmark games that do this for unknowing consumers before they buy.

Seems like a very fair thing to ask for, given you might not want to play or purchase that product if it requires you forfeit a Photo ID to the developer/publisher, like you're being carded for alcohol to play, to just play a videogames.

valve literally informs consumers that the games they're downloading have that malware. They don't control what other companies do, but they do sell their games, so instead of letting you download malware without you knowing, they have taglines that inform the user beforehand.
They're not openly letting companies put malware on your device, you are, by downloading the games. The fact they tell you these games have anticheats means they're doing their job as a storefront.
All I'm saying is that Valve needs to do the same for these new games that are asking for Photo ID's like GTAV and presumably 6.

I think this should be brought to their attention, though it likely already is. It needs to be said.

You fucking would if you're playing GTAV in this case, this is being requested by Rockstar, from what is sounds, everyone will have to who tries to play online. Steam should inform people Rockstar is doing this before they buy so they can abstain from purchasing if they take issue with that or don't wish to give ID.

Again, it is insane that we live in a world where this is accepted. We can only change it by not accepting it, and not engaging with products that do ask of you these things: your ID etc.
