the only mmo experience i have is with wow, how's the FF14 community? are there many tryhards? can i enjoy content alone (not raids etc) are the bosses mechanics as complicated as wow's?

As someone who played the game, don't bother. Not so much because of the community but because of how the game is built. It's 95% single player quests/events. And then the little multiplayer content is terrible.

Assuming this thread is genuine... Play FFXI instead. FFXIV is full of gold bots, cheaters, and furry RP.

>when you enter a dungeon in WoW no one uses chat to anything, unless they shittalk to each other

XIV also had a bigger, or at least way more visible, RP scene. In WoW it's largely concentrated on just a few servers. In XIV it's on all of them. You can engage with it or ignore it totally.

Content alone? Yes, even many dungeons can be done with NPCs if you want now

Since nobodys said it, FFXIV has an expanded free trial up to level 70 with no restrictions on playtime, and includes the base game and first two expansions for free... blah blah. Try it as long as you want

Seeing alexandrians put on the regulator again just to take in their forgotten memories and living memory lit up again with the new Smile version was nice
Also maybe I'm wrong but did they make like 3 variations of Smile just in this patch? Like there's a jubilant version, an emotional version and an epic moment version (the epic version sucked, the other 2 was nice)

90% of the content is solo, the rest you have to actively seek out. The boss mechanics don't get complicated until like Endwalker, and even then its only relatively harder. It ramps up nicely.

Better than WoW's but specalized to each Data Center rather than server. For example Crystal is where you go for RP or Hunts, Aether is for Raiding, Dynamis is for new players looking for a fresh server, etc.

Yes, but they're almost exclusively on the raid DCs.

The vast majority of the game can be done solo. The team just added duty support (bot parties) to all of the required dungeons though they're slower than a party with real people.

Ultimates are harder than anything WoW has ever done, savages are about mythic level, extremes are heroic level, normals are LFR level, and dungeons are barely above quest level until you get to the end of an expansion. Though the latest expansion has had a noticeable step up in dungeon difficulty.

As far as I can tell there is no community. If you play the game you won't see other players outside of ONE fishing city with an obnoxious layout, and most of them are AFK. And if you come here, it's just people that pretend to be mad at the game because of a single character's voice in a game with a bad story that should be ignored anyway.
