How much harder is Master ninja? Any tips?

Learn how to use Wind Path; it's very useful because of its i-frames and ability to stun enemies enemies, allowing you to, say, set up a running attack. Guillotine Throw is also very handy against human enemies. Spam UTs in the first level as much as you can to farm tons of Essence and upgrade one of your weapons at the very first Muramasa shop; the Staff tends to be the better choice for begginers because of its UTs. Try to save Ninpo for certain boss fights like Gigadeath and Rasetsu, or harder encounters. XXY is the best string for the Sword, use it. XXY > Shuriken Cancel > OT will deal with most enemies, especially the ninjas, very easily. Master on-landing UTs and on-landing forward attacks. Shurikens are very handy and you should be using them a lot if you aren't already. Upgrade the Claws to level 3 before the Water Dragon boss fight if you can; its on-water XXY string is very useful for that fight. It's also very useful to deal with the hovering mechs in Chapter 9. The Claws are also good against Zedonius because of its XX>YYY string which can even loop him, and Elizabeth because you can loop her with the Claws' Flying Swallow. Learn how to use Calm Water Break; it allows you to dodge while running on water, which is useful to deal with the archers in Chapter 2, and you can even dodge Jellyfish explosions with it. Use Incendiary Shurikens to deal with ranged enemies and the Armadillos; you can loop the latter with it. On-air XXY with the Scythe is very useful against Dagra Dai, which is the most obnoxious fight in the game.

It’s much harder, very spammy, and very poorly balanced (even the developers say it). 2fags and itagakifags who deny the obvious truth of NGB being the better game will cry and say that it’s a skill issue and harder = better, but it’s a cope. Mentor is more fun overall, but there is definitely some charm to how insane it gets

DMC veteran who can beat the games on Hell and Hell blindfolded here. Is there a lower difficulty than Acolye? I keep losing to the first group of enemies.
The issue is that I keep trying to do a cuhuraysee style combo but the enemy ninja actually fight back! How do I deal with this?

I think the second level is because of needing to fight IS ninja in such narrow rooms so their shit always hits the wall and blows up. MN is straightforward after that.

It becomes truly stupid hard to an extreme fault. Don't let anyone on here gaslight you into thinking otherwise. I remember Itagaki himself in an article very long ago even apologized to fans that he wasn't allowed to properly balance MNM since the game was rushed and he was fired right after its release iirc. If you can somehow make it past the first few chapters though you will most likely be able to beat the game since the hardest part is having under leveled weapons and little health.

I am talking about the Xbox 360 version btw. I don't know about any other version since I only played the 360 version.

just play NGB its a better more polished game and on each difficulty it adds enough new stuff to keep you interested. ng2 shipped unfinished. many franchises did not survive the jump to the 7th gen fully intact.
